The great curry paste cook-up

Armed with Jamie’s Ministry of Food, our mission for the long weekend was to make all five of his curry pastes from scratch.  The first step was to buy all the spices and find the food processor and mortar & pestle which were still packed up in the boxes labelled ‘kitchen’.  Then it was on to toasting, crushing, chopping and blending.  The result is that we now have five little tubs of homemade curry paste in our freezer.

From the bottom up, they are korma, jalfrezi, rogan josh, tikka masala and vindaloo.

Jamie’s book also includes some great pictures of rooms with retro wallpaper.  Here are a few of my favourites.

P.S.  Let me know if you would like a copy of the recipes as I typed and printed them rather than exposing Jamie’s lovely book to the mess we made in our kitchen.
